Marriage in New York?
Rumor has it that New York Gov. David A. Paterson is planning to ask the state's legislature to allow same-sex couples to wed in the state. Currently, only opposite-sex couples can obtain a marriage certificate in New York, although the state recognizes the marriages of same-sex couples whose weddings were performed in other jurisdictions (such as Massachusetts).
