This Week's Announcements

The time warp is coming back to the Majestic Theater. That’s right, the quintessential midnight movie, Rocky Horror Picture show will once again gracing the big screen with a premiere this Friday January 16th. To start the night, there will be usic by Madison’s Null Device at 9pm…..then it’s off to Brad and Janet, damnit…and there adventures with Dr. Frank N Furter. The Velvet Darkness add their live stage show to complete the event. That’s the Rocky Horror Picture show at the Majestic Theatre with Null Device and Velvet Darkness this Friday at 9pm.

Eve was not born of Adam, but of two lesbians and a sperm donor At least, that's what Blasphemy, the new play by Walmartopia writers Andrew Rohn and Catherine Capellaro contends. The play runs through january 31st at the Bartell Theatre, with Performances: Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8 pm, Sunday matinee on Jan. 18th at 2 pm. all performances are a benefit for Bartell, on Mifflin street just off the Capitol Square. Keep the date open for Pillowpalooza III: The Even More Ultimate Smackdown. This is next Saturday, Jan 24th at 2:00 PM at the High Noon Saloon, 701 E Washington Ave. All proceeds from this event help the ASANA Softball World Series. Admission is $8. Doors open at 1:00 PM, and fights start at 2:00 and go until 4:30. Come ready to enjoy the campy good fun, cheer on your favorite fighters, and bribe the judges. There may be some opportunities for amateur fighters – making this a BYOP event.

The "Keep WORT Wired" winter pledge drive is coming up. The drive will run from Feb. 8-21. We’re looking for a few good Queery fans to sign up to answer phones during our shows on February 11th and 18th. It’s easy to do, by simply logging on to the WORT web site: at www.wort-fm.org or by calling 256-2001 during business hours and selecting the news block on those days.
